Finding a Horizon

Finding a Horizon

2017, ten drawings each approximately 2" x 3", Pen on paper

Collaborative work generated by participants on a Signal Fire trip. Each person was asked to take a short walk from a designated central point and draw what they believed the horizon line to be. This project was motivated by a 48-hour solo period in the wilderness, where I built a structure of found wood in order to find a sense of grounding in my campsite. Part of my uneasiness during this period of time was due to the proximity of the trees, and generated questions about what constitutes a horizon line.
